Gesture drawings
I absolutely hated the gesture drawings and everything about them. I don't think it was a good way to practice for figure drawing either, just in my personal opinion. I learn differently and this activity did nothing but make me improve my drawings. However there were some things I did find beneficial which were the multiple drawings we did. It helped me practice getting the form right. I wish we had more time to draw the person posing.
Skeleton drawing
The Skeleton drawing was very beneficial to learning how to draw a proportional body. Its very hard getting proportions right and I personally hated this project and would not do it again. The body wasn't proportioned correctly and I don't feel like I got the value range right. Also since we only had a day to work on it I didn't have enough time to add detail. It did help be draw figure drawings though.
Scratchboard
The scratchboard project was very very different and at first i hated it. After working with it for some time i realized its not too bad. Its very frustrating that you cant erase but i think it makes an amazing end result. I really like how i showed the texture in the skin of the octopus and the value range. This was all very new to me and I personally loved it. I would definitely do another scratchboard project on my own time.
Skull Drawing
The skull drawing i found very very difficult. The hardest part about it was trying to make myself on a skull that wasn't the same shape as my skull. The face was too long compared to mine and the proportions were different. Also it was hard finding the proportions of my face because they're not the typical facial proportions. I feel i could improve on everything, i don't like the lips or eyes or nose which is the entire face. I think the features are okay its the placement of them that are bad.
Self Portrait
This project i felt was very difficult in many ways. I thought drawing myself would be easy because i know my face better than anybody else but i was very wrong. In the end it looks nothing like me but i do like it a lot. While i was working i faced many issues and made lots of mistakes.
One of the mistakes i made was picking up a black pencil instead of white and coloring on the chin with it. The chin was a huge problem area for me and i had to keep lightening it so it didn't look like i had a beard. Once i colored with the black i had an idea, and decided to turn the black spot into a bruise. I also had a very very hard time trying to get the tears/flowers to flow nicely.
This picture represents strength, i feel. The bruises represent something bad happening to you and hurting you, but when you cry something beautiful comes out(the flowers). It shows that there really is beauty in everything and theres always good in every bad situation.

Still Life
The still life drawing was the hardest, most overwhelming, and confusing drawing i have ever done. I could not understand how to place the objects i decided to draw and could not visualize the highlight on the mask. If i could change one thing about this project it would be that there are individual arrangements at everyones table. I also could not get a good angle to draw because everybody was crowded around it. Overall this is probably my least favorite project but i think its good for me because it challenges me.
Progression
The progression drawing was very very difficult to me, mainly because of the shading in the crinkled up wrapper. I couldn't get the shading as smooth as i wanted but i do think as a whole i did okay with this project. If i could change one thing it would be the candy i chose to draw, i would not have drawn the hershey kiss. I think i improved on sketching the overall shape of the hershey kiss which was also very hard for me. Personally, i wouldn't draw anything like this on my own time but it did help me improve on some of my techniques.
Look at that view
This project was very difficult to me mainly because of the sunset in the lens. I tried to do something diffrent and make the sunset in color but i didn't do very well on it. If i could change one thing about this project it would be how i did the sunset, and also add more things into the background. I think i did a good job on the shading off the hand considering this is the first time I've ever drawn anything close to this.
Candy
The candy project was very difficult to me mainly because of the colors. I haven't really figured out how to properly shade using these colors, and i also haven't figured out how to shade and highlight the wrapper. If i could change one thing about this it would be the piece of candy i used, i would have used the Smarties instead. However i had to draw smarties at my last school and decided to try something new. This definitely is not the best work I've done but i tried a new thing which is what will make me a better artist in the long run.
